What does a character do? Why might it fail? What can you use instead? Paste Unicode text to inspect it without sending the text to a server.

What this check can and cannot prove
Code-point identity, normalization differences and common Unicode format behaviors are analyzed on your device. Grapheme boundaries use the browser's Unicode data version, which may differ from the site's published Unicode release. This tool does not test whether your destination app permits these characters or whether another device has a working font.
If a target renders a blank square, uses an unexpected emoji style or rejects input, check that specific application, field, font and version. The suggestions below describe tradeoffs; substitutions are never applied silently.
For exact character names and escape formats, also use the Inspector. For the versioned machine-readable data, see Data Access. Published question pages are at Unicode answers.
