Copy Paste Characters resolves Unicode characters: what each one is, what it does, and which fallback to use when a target was not tested. The pinned release is Unicode 18.0.0.

Symbol Typeface

Missing previews can use Noto Sans Symbols 2, Noto Sans Cuneiform, and Noto Sans Egyptian Hieroglyphs, served locally when you choose to load a character font. It covers additional symbols, not every Unicode script. Copying does not depend on font availability. Distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1; original font source. Additional licenses: Cuneiform and Egyptian Hieroglyphs. Also available on demand: Anatolian Hieroglyphs, Mathematics, and Music.

The static database is generated from Unicode Character Database text files for names, blocks, scripts, properties, aliases, and emoji exclusion.

Update Path

Front-page shortcut data lives in src/data/characters.ts. The static reference database is split into public/data/unicode-index.json, public/data/unicode-search-index.json, public/data/featured.json, and category shard files in public/data/shards/.
